Try as I might, I can't take a photo that accurately reflects the color of this tab. In person, it is carmine - what I'd call 'hot pink.' It's for Luftwaffe a Hauptmann on the Generalstab [General Staff].

This tab is for a Beamte Oberfeldwebel and is the 1940 pattern. The border has three strands of silver metallic wire and one of dark green. The most common border was half silver and half green. However, braid of this type was used - it is just less common.

Hauptmann on the staff of the Flakartillerieschule (Anti-aircraft Artillery School). The device is made up of the intwined letters 'FAS.'

I've always liked the collar tabs for the Ingenieurkorps der Luftwaffe (Corps of Engineers of the Air Force). Here are a few.

wow....I don't think I've ever seen that nice and large of a collection of anything! You wouldn't happen to have come accross and GD Nachrichtenabteilung related items in your years of collecting would you have?

                    Cheers

The only example I've seen of that branch is owned by my friend Scott Pritchett. I'll be using it later in a web article. I'm sure he won't mind if I post a photo of it here for you.

                          Dave:
Thanks...like the other 626 posters and the 38,500 viewers of your thread, I too continue to keep track of what you post.

How nice that you put one of my items on...it's the pair in the Edwards Pruett book...on black. May be one of a kind.

For Dar - here are a few more...the right one a field made embroidery job or a very lousy embroiderer. The left pair is classic.

But, this is your thread and I do not wantto turn it in to anyone but you posting your great insignia collection.

                          Got any Schutzen straps?

Army Colonels who jump out of airplanes are a lot like (good) trial lawyers - they never ask a question they don't already know the answer to.

I'm not sure how I persuaded Scott to part with this one, but I'm sure glad I did.
