                    Enlisted. The combination patch is for an Oberstabsmaschinistengast (Engine Personnel Seaman 2nd Class). He was called an Oberstabsheizer if serving as a stoker on a coal or oil fired ship. The pip and one chevron was only used from 28 January 1935 to 17 October 1936, and then only if inducted after 31 March 1934.
