                  This strap is the one pictured on page 406 of Uniforms and Traditions of the German Army, Volune 1. Jack identified it in the book as artillery (B&W photo)but the color is clearly pink. (Now you know of a mistake that until now only I knew.) For an Unterfeldwebel of Schützenregiment 4 (4th Rifle Regiment (Motorized).

                              For an Oberstleutnant in Infanterieregiment 51. That Regiment was a part of the 18th Infantry Division. It later became the 51st Grenadier Regiment (Motorized) in 1940 and the division became the 18th Panzer Grenadier Division. It was from Wehrkreis VIII (Breslau) with the home station in Liegnitz.
