Breast Eagle on Flight Colonel's 4-pocket tunic

      Forgot to ask earlier....

has anyone seen this particular design of the eagle done for the Hermann Goering trooops ie. bullion on black wool?

I believe (for me anyway) this is the most beautiful design of the Officer's breast eagle done on bullion. Comments anyone?

Breast Eagle on Sarge's NCO Pilot's 4-pocket tunic

Another beautiful bird from Sarge's collection. I'd like to see this design of the adler done on Officers' bullion or aluminum thread. Does anyone have pics?

Also, anyone have any pics of birds on Officers' leather flight jackets?

          Unbelievably big collection.
Just cannot imagine how much time and money you put in this megacollection, but I am sure that it would be simply impossible to do nowadays, perhaps for all of us

bnz.42 - It's not impossible. It just takes time and money. Unfortunately, I have more time than money. I was around in the days when he bought his first few pieces (at least one of which turned out to be a reproduction). We all build our collections one piece at a time.

I like your optimism, PD Sergeant.

                Collection

First off I would like to say that is one of the most impressive collections I have ever seen. I also like how in your "War Room" you have that bunker/wooden building look and it adds a neat touch. Thanks for sharing your collection and I just hope I can achieve maybe half that!

Hmmmmm. Well, the Evil Sebatron is back at it, tinkering with the site. I had been planning to start posting pictures of some loose cloth, so I suppose I might as well try it now and see if I can still even get pictures to post.

At any rate, here's the first try, a pair of general's collar tabs (well duh!)

Well, that's it. One lousy picture. Had to have Seba take me by the hand but I finally figured it out. Unfortunately, it took all evening. More later.

Well, that took longer than I thought it would. Been a busy two weeks. For those golf wackos among you, I've been tied up working the International Golf Tournament at Castle Pines. Anyway, as so long ago promised, here are some straps & boards.

First off is an enlisted Luftwaffe strap for the Luftnachrichten- Abteilung des Oberbegehlshabers der Luftwaffe (Air Signals Battalion of the Commander-in-Chief of the Luftwaffe).

What's that you say - an officer version of the above? Well sure, why not. (By the way, since its a bit hard to see, its and 'L' and an 'O' intwined.)

This Luftwaffe strap has a machine-embroidered red intwined 'WS' for the Flak-Waffentechnische Schule (Flak Ordinance School).

This strap is for a Feldwebel (Staff Sergeant) assigned to the Flakartillerieschule (Flak Artillery School). The device is an intwined FAS.

This one isn't sexy - no device or anything, but its a pretty rare board anyway. Its for a Luftwaffe Official (Beamte) of the Reichswetterdienst (Reich Weather Service).

A pair of collar tabs and shoulder boards for a major of the Reichsluftfahrtministerium (Reich Air Ministry) between 1935 and 1939 or Luftwaffen-Bau-Verbande (Construction units) from the end of 1939 on. The Luftwaffe used black as a branch color for the Reich Air Ministry beginning in 1935. In September 1939 the Gothic RLM insignia was introduced for wear by all Reich Air Ministry members. In December of 1939 construction troops were added to that color. Since the boards never had devices attached they are most likely for a construction officer, as they would only have been for the RLM if the owner stopped wearing the uniform before September 1939, although that is possible. If for Ingenieuroffizier des Flugwessens (Corps of Engineer Officers) rank would be Major (Ing.)
