    Lets see your MG08 - MG08/15 displays

    Hi all

I know of several forum members having awesome machine gun collections.

Here are some of my displays - luckily the neighbours were not around

    Thanks for looking
    Johan

    PS.
The MG08 inner shield is missing on the above pictures. Here is one I obtained recently :

        Nice Johan
Gents, Please forgive for posting in the Uniform Thread.
Chip,s praise of David,s collection is well justified. He also possess,s the world,s finest example of a camouflaged German 08 sledmount Maxim. Hopefully by showing these guns we will coax him into showing it. Hope he gives fair warning: every time I see it I pass out!

                  Hello,

some of my stuff, it's not easy to take pictures of a display because i have MG's accessories every where in my house
I will try to show you some stuffs never seen, or not often......

To beggin, a normal MG 08 from beggining of war, you can see the first scope made (little different).....

The first boxes for ammunition with regiment unit....

                  The MG 08 cover....

One of the MG i like very much, it's a russian model 1910, captured by germans and converted for german ammunition. there is the special nose shield made by german, and there is a very rare coal-fired water-heather for the MG 08...

And to finnish, some of my machine gunners....

                  David

                            Hello,

i show you a MGss helmet i own. I have it since a long time and i know a other one (the little brother, same camouflage, same insigna) in a old french collection.......Before being a MGss, the owner of this helmet was in the guard regiment, you cans see under the MG insigna, the Guard insigna.

All that stuff almost makes you think you went back in time. Ahh the good old days when wars were fought for national defense.
