Today was a big day; I returned from Stuttgart and......... I touched Hitlers parade car!

Did you take any fotos you can share? Dont know much about the vehicle except that it had bullet proof glass, armor plates and that there were more than one. 101st captured one I believe which they shot up to see just how effective the protection was.

Same happened to Goerrings car. It was captured by the british and used for target practice. It was based at my dads company for a while and was being done up. It went to america but my dad took a piece of bullet proof glass (corner section!!) but he sold it oh well maybe next time,

theres on in the museum of ottawa, but i dont think its bullet proof, been a while since ive seen it.

Staff car

Here is a picture of a picture of Hitler's staff car and visor cap as It appeared in Las Vegas at the Imperial Palace car collection . This was 1996 and they also had one of Mussolini's staff cars also. I do't know if they are still there or have changed hands. Sorry , It's the only picture that I have. Regards, Mitch

The car was for sale; it's now in Germany in the IMAX museum or something like that. It's not far from Stuttgart.

I saw it last summer, it's still there. I believe it did have bulletproof glass, but some of "the Boys" used armour piercing rounds to test out the resilliance of the windshield, etc... After looking at it I wouldn't want to be a passanger if anyone was shooting at it with armour piercing rounds!

It's pretty shot up but still looks great on display with the SS manequin Guard keeping close watch.

Looking at the pic of hitler's cap I can't help but chuckle. Typical museum display (not that there is anything wrong with that!!!). That hat would most likely be the centre piece of many collections and no doubt would be graced by an equally lavish display stand. I love the 0.50 Cent sign denoting that it is Hitler's hat!

Just got a little chuckle from that and thought I'd share it with the forum.

Hello all,

It was indeed (as Christian already mentioned) in de Auto & Technik museum I've touched the car. I just found the museum guide I bought there and our German friends have a nice word for "Museumguide"; a "Museumfuhrer" . But in the guide they discribe the paradecar as an ordinary "1938 cabriolet" and they only talk of the Fuhrer on a plate near the car; and there they discribe him as the Reichskanzler. Does Germany has a law about Nazism? I know that you need to cover swatstikas, but I dont know that it is forbidden to say "Hitler" in public. I would like to hear something of our German forums members.
