    groundfound pennant

    found in LAH capitulation area 20 yrs ago. A SS belt buckle was found nearby. Was put into storage doing nothing with. It low lies in destilled water. Later on I may put it in evaporust.

    I ask what others with more knowledge about pennants than me can see from these pictures, further, what my be written on the pennant. Thank you very much in advance.

    Recommendations on restoring are also highly appreciated. The other side looks worse.

    Hi, on this, I would definately use oxalic Acid (Oxalsäure). It brings out the Colours on rusted iron parts. I use it from time to time, not Always the best choice, on this one definately. Old find from upper Austria I suppose.

      Having it in water of any kind does not help at all! That only creates more rust.
