    groundfound LAH car pennant

I have made a thread in the vehicle forum, only to realize that there is a special forum. I have a groundfound car pennant, presumably from LAH, and ask for all possible info on this, since this is not my piece of cake. Currently it lies in destilled water

    Hello Nigromontanus:
Wondering what design you are seeing on this dug
relic pennant that makes it as being from the LAH ?

because it was found where the LAH went over river Enns to capitulate to US troops and a ss buckle was found near it. Thank you very much for the photo. Were all pennants of LAH with white color? Which units had red color?

Waffen SS command pennants in the field
followed the design of the army examples.
Red being by tradition symbolizing artillery.

Again thank you very much. Is my recherche correct that this is the pennant of a regimental commander?

PzArtReg 1 was there where pennant had been found. What was usually written on these pennants? Since it starts with an S I can just say that the commander of the regiment at this time was named Steineck and the commander of 2nd Abteilung was named Schlett

from what I can see of the pennant on the photo, on the upper side the designation of the unit is written. When this is true and the first letter is an S and it is artillery, the S could mean "schwer", which is german for heavy. part of PzArtReg 1 was also the Schwere Korps-Artillerie-Abteilung 101/501.

Evaporust yielded the tactical sign for pioneers.

Honestly, I expected more of this subforum. In my field when I see something I know something and can give info. I am surprised that this is here not the case and that I have to teach myself everything. Anyway, I am capable of this.

Posted photos just seem to show massive corrosion.
From same I'm unable to make out much of anything.
If there is a side with black, red, black areas and some
lettering, then association with some artillery unit use
might be possible. Otherwise, I can't say much more.

(below) Army style command pennant reference chart.
Number 7 is like SS-LAH in Russia pennant in post #2.
Number 4 would be like for command of an artillery unit.

Thank you. It is red - black - red, which would mean according to your picture (thank you for this) battalion. Tomorrow I will finish working on the pennant and will post pics, maybe then something can be concluded.

I have found it out. It is 1. Batterie Schwere Korps-Artillerieabteilung 101/501 LAH. A good library is everything. Thank you, oldflagswanted fpr giving me the right incentive!!!
