First off let me state that I do not seek out KIA or blood stained items. It doesnt matter to me what it is, Im just curious. I was given this pouch yesterday by my friend Chris, user studentofhistory, and upon inspection it looks like a red substance leaked onto the leather and down pooling at the bottom slightly. The rivets and d ring are aluminum or zinc or whatever, not magnetic, so no pitting. Thoughts on the substance?

Perhaps the pouch was used for hunting purposes postwar and got in contact with animal blood that way?

Don't know it it's a coincidence, but the song "back to life, back to reality" is just playing
