Unopened bread ration can

Just have checked in book written by Jim Pool I was writing about earlier ( and suggesting to buy one ; there is plenty of informations you are looking for ) and your guess about bread inside is correct ! The markings you can see on your can is typical marking for bread in can. congrats for this great score !

by the way ; sorry for my previous post - it seems I have ate some words and twist letters so it might been incomprehensible

Thinking about it, it's just amazing that there are unopened can's around considering the fact that thousands of guys starved to death back then.....

Hello Hermsdorf,

if you found the can during metal detecting in the 70's, it would be ok....
If you found the can in recent years I'd have to say you got one "tough woman" on your side

I'm told by Genossen who used to eat DDR tinned bread when they served in "Grenzers" it is best to toast the Bread.

The price has been reduced some time ago, it was close to $2k.
It's a pretty steep number for a tin with rotten bread in it but look around how many are out there for sale.....I could not think of another one right now.....
