I can not understand why Gran Sasso and Tom thinking this is german ww2, you are both collectors for a long time with a lot of knowledgement about german ww2 equipment! Nothing, exept the "Trinkwasser", what also can be swiss or austrian, on this can look german, not the lid, not the carrying handle, not this other handle, not the stamps and not the color! Take a look at your collection, german equipment had its own style, on most items you see "That is german equipment from ww2"! And you know that! So, what on this thing looks german???
And what about the Nirosta steel? Which other equipment item was made out of "Nirosta"?

    Best regards
    Dirk

Because he bought it with other german Stuff, that is proof enough.
      Sorry for my irony.

One thing's for sure, it's not flight related IMO, all these items have FL numbers, even their Trinkwasser canisters.

Don't think the can is wartime.

ThyssenKrupp Nirosta are settled in Krefeld nowadays.

Did the emergency-"canteens" for gasoline and water have FL-numbers? Cant remember, didnt had one of those for while.

Good point, they've not, but they are part of a survival kit which has photographic evidence.
Their corks have 3 letter codes though and a year.
I actually meant the 10 L and 20 L water bottles which have FL numbers for luft.

I never doubted those exist - and I think I remember a foto where a bombers crew emergency kit was displayed (in a "Signal" or so - like someone else has already mentioned here) where those kind of canister could be seen. So hopefully someone finds it sooner or later.

I'll keep a eye, but I can't recall I saw one of those in pics, but I certainly haven't seen everything, the research never stops.

I've got one that was recovered from the sea during the war by home guard soldiers sent to recover bodies of German bomber crew that crashed in the Western approaches of England.

Despite the posts to the contrary this item is 100% WW2 era. There is evidence to prove it. Also seen film evidence of German soldier drinking from one in a Deutsches Wochenschau film from late war. I recall the sequence involved German stormboats.

                    Kind Regards,
                    Simon

Sorry this is too late for you Carles, but for the sceptics and doubters. I apologise for the poor quality of the picture, basically a still frame from a "Wochenschau".

Thanks Simon. Was it for a special use or general issue?
