I need to look at my media files and will then see if I can digitise the sequence. As mentioned before my can was associated with an aircraft loss, the material it is made from also makes sense for conditions where rust would be a great problem. As always research is the key, I have yet to find documentary evidence to confirm the general use for the cans, but the pictures speak for themselves.Originally posted by me6_130 View Post

Some of mine i get this year and i know from with Fliegerhorst the came from.
They exist although in Aluminium, but under 50 Pices i hade was only on of them in Aluminium!
The are used for drinkwater for survieval pack of Bomber or Transport plains, i know while a frind has the "Dienstvorschrift" ther are pictured on in 10 Liter but i and he never see one!Comment

No they are the divots made by the spot welder. They are filled with paint so the look like holes in the photo.
