And you are rigth about those guys they aren't hide much this way so they have misunderstood the whole meaning of the RB.Numbers but I have to believe it only was starting problems and someone "helped" the company into the meaning later on! BTW can you made a close-up of the ink stamp for deciphering of the Maker.
I have one pouch and a entrance tool holster? with maker and RB.Nr
    Thanks in advance

      Hi ScottPritchett<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>

Well why not a uniform? As long the object is "one" piece like one jacket, one pair of pants etc. the same factory could have the ability to make all the mentioned equipment or uniform parts I don’t see any problem. The RB. Number is still in my opinion partly a inventory code for a specific manufacture? There could in the number be some other hidden information’s! Like the batch, the city or a contract number?? Some of these ideas have been suggested before both by myself and by other members. I like attaching some other RB-RF numbers I have found starting with 1/xxxx/xxxx could be to your interests. My advice is don't be worried about the 1/ even they not are often seen. As you can see I have no uniform parts, but uniforms is out of my focus. <o></o>

      1/0035/0034, Frog. 1/0343/0022, Y straps. 1/0344/0144, Bread bag. 1/0390/0115, Ammo pouch. 1/0750/0112, Ammo pouch. 1/0750/0114, Ammo pouch. 1/1000/0005, Ammo pouch. 1/1000/0005,Y straps. 1/1044/0014, Ammo pouch. 1/1079/0043, Ammo pouch. 1/1944/0014, Ammo pouch<o></o>

Anyhow...I did the search as I am considering a Panzer uniform thta is quite rare. The RbNr caught my eye as it starts with a "1" and not a zero. Like everyone who has commented on this thread over the past two years, I unfortunately do not have any facts as to how these numbers are translated. My own tendency is to believe the first number has more to do with the method of procurement, versus where the item was made. I cannot back this up with anything oter than afer 27 years in teh US Army looking at government property stock/item numbers, our National Inventory Identification Numbers factor in procurement methid in to the 'serial number'.

But - back to the uniform. At this point I believe it is authentic, but odd to have an Rb Nr starting with a 1. Since it is a rare insigniad piece, I am naturally being more paranoid at the things that do not conform 100% to what I expect to see. Most of what has been listed in this thread are field gear items and maybe a cap...but here we have a uniform.

Any chance that sine this thread died, there is more that can be commented on and we can revive some discussion?

Kim, I agree, I see nothing wrong with a RBnr that starts with a "1". But, beyond "1" and "0" and I start getting very suspect. I once had a Meyer cap that started with "9". I inquired around and everyone agreed (including some big guns in the collecting world) that this was not possible. So, back it went to its source after sitting on my shelf for over a year. Thank god for lifetime guarantees.

Scott, the whole RBNr scheme is a bit of a mystery. You might be right in the "0" versus "1" scheme. I don't know if we will ever know and even what the number meant. Willi has pieced together some thoughts about the other numbers in the series, I know. Top it all off, now, Gailen David has a fairly righteous winter cap on his site right now that starts with "9".

I have an small idea.. about this RBNr's-- how about putting them all together - something like iron cross statistics by Blitz - to list all rbnrs we have - and on what item this number is found..
today evening I will have some time - I will try to put this together...

there are also things double marked - rbnr plus regular manufacturer stamp - please post them ...

Mike, Kim has already been working on this. You might want to private message him about what he's got thus far.

                        Hi all<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>

                        <o></o>

I would love to help all you guy's by giving all of my narrow knowledge into and about the RB. Nr. but.<o></o>

The subject Rb. Nr is not solved by anybody at least not to my knowledge and from reading in this forum, all of us have some ideas about how the number system are or could be constructed.<o></o>

I have found some very few numbers with there corresponding maker and even today I am not fully sure about the interpreting of this double or triple information’s? Caused by it found everywhere around in the collectors world with all possibilities for misreading and other errors.I have gathered a list over the last 5 years who tells me about the RB.Nr itself and the type of equipment it has been stamped on.
The list is far from complete and only partly correct caused by a lot of the RB. Nr. are hard to read on the screen etc.But if someone has numbers to add please feel free sending me those numbers along with the type of equipment etc. and I would like to have a discussion in the forum how to maintain and keep these informations for the benefit to us all. The moderator could maybe have an idea here.<o></o>
Anyway ask for what you like and I shall try my best. <o></o>

                        Best Regards<o></o>
