It looks likeone of the late war model mess tins with no handle, although your attachment for the handle looks slightly different then the ones I have seen in person. Check the link below under the mess kit section for a similar model, a friend of mine has one exactly like the one pictured on the webpage but his is 44 dated.
O my god Seth......thanks,grazie,danke,hvala,mercì for this great link.
I'll study it so much,thanks a lot.
Sorry for my english, but I have a problem to write....
Now I'm looking for Mod.37/38/42/45 and with black and green interior finished. When I'm found it I'll be so happy
Mulon,
Nice collection, I think you will also need to look for one of the 44/45 varianst without the bottom loop on the handle for the strap to round out your collection, like this . . .
I got 2 of them, one from 1945 and one from 1944.
I don't think the 2 parts belong to each other.
IMO the below part side must look like this:
I'm collecting anything related to the towns Castricum and Bakkum during WWII.
Also soldbucher from 116pzdiv. And 1944-1945 eastfront pockets, kampfgruppe and Oder front. My website: Gotrick.nl
Yea... another messkit to put on my "want to have" list
(the one PanzerJager1944 shows).
