To bring back the "big head" discussion from page 25, i was going through some of my zelts and measured the heads, i found one with 62cm! And, i have one with only 40cm, this is a 1944 Rb Nr stamped rotating buttonhole zelt!
I think i have to measure all my zelts now!

      Best regards

Wow, 62cm. Is this the new record or are there bigger ones around?

Here's my latest Zeltbahn. A Franz Weck from 1941.
It has two "L.S. Pol." markings. (Luftschutzpolizei)
Another interesting thing is that on the lower side the strong thread that is connected to the button holes and usually is used to attach the buttons is sticking out, as if it had been prepared to actually hold buttons. (workers mistake?)

Here is the thread on a actually unfinished Zeltbahn. Still coming out right at the buttonholes since those are not completely sewn yet.

              Nice ZB and interesting Detail!

Does anyone have a zelt with a smaller head distance then 40cm?

              Comment

I got a little bored and decided to measure all my Zelts to see if I have any ones with the small head distance. But the lowest distance was 45cm.

Since I had them all out, I decided to get as many of my Zelts as possible on a picture.
Even though I had far from enough room to get all of them on, the light conditions were bad and I had to use the flash the result is not so bad.

Enjoy a part of my collection.

Great to see part of your collection, I collect various themes but the zeltbahns are more facinating to me because they have sort of been there in a personal way & are sometimes overlooked. When you pick one up you can almost feel it more than most 3rd reich items. Just my thoughts.

                          Dark Zeltbahn

I have this Zeltbahn, in my opinion I will say original but I want to hear a second opinion just to be sure. Marked "Briel Frankfurt/M 1941" It's the 1931 zeltbahn pattern but I never saw before this melting of colors on the darker side. A lot of missing buttons, some tors, but still nice.

                          Your idea?

I find pics of a other "Briel" Zeltbahn 1938 to compare.

Nice original zelt from a not such common maker: Briel.

The pics you posted are quite small and difficult to make out what you mean by melting of colours on top side. Can you clarify and post larger photos?

                            Thanks for sharing.
                            Cheers

Thanks for the answer camo master,
I'm talking about the fact that the dark side don't have the grey color, only green and brown. Maybe it's me, but I cant find these kind of colors anywhere else.

                                Hi Overlord
Still not sure what you mean about the colours on the dark side. Can you email me the photos so I can take a closer look at them.

Oh boy - another "Freddy" camo mask. I like these but Im sure you will now get all the nay sayers giving you the "no way" on this one. This thread, where a mask similar to yours was posted, will give you a good indication.

                                http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ht=sniper+mask

I would really like to see larger photos of this mask - can you email them to me. Would greatly appreciate that.
                                Cheers
