maker marks, names, regiment marks, dates and patterns on Zeltbahns

    Hello all

Seeing there are a few zeltbahn questions recently, I wanted to start this thread

I have a few and some have nice maker marks, whilst others are not so clear, what I wanted to do was start a thread showing the maker marks so those of us who are struggling to read full names and so on can look on here to see if there is a match.

I would also like to try and get all the years that they were produced on here aswell

and lastly any that are named or regimentally marked would be great aswell!

Hope you guys wouldn't mind diggin out their zelts for a good cause

    Cheers John

here we go then with two late war ones first, both made by the same company

                    Hi Adrian and Jeff

                    thanks for posting,

Adrian, your stamp looks very similar to the one on my brown zelt,

Jeff, I have an SS zelt marked with the same maker, which also is stamped in two areas, mine is 1941 dated

nice name tag aswell on that one,

Your stamp would read Warei" Zeltbahn:
                    D.R.P. (Deutsches Reich Patent)
                    1942

                    and on the other side

                    "Warei" - Patentzelte
                    Walter Reichert
                    BERLIN NW 40

I just realised he named his company shortening his name

                    Cheers

                    John

                        nice one glenn

That would be Muhlhausen im thruringen would you think, thats a different stamp aswell being in the Oval, just cant quite make out how to spell the maker, can you read it?

I wonder if the mark underneath had any meaning

I just google earthed that location and its pretty much slap bang in the middle of Germany

                        Cheers

                        John

wow, cool to know John. right in the middle of the Fatherland. good figuring on the lower name, I couldnt make that out. Ill have to put that in my catalog. the top is "A.P. Schmidt" Glenn

I always wondered about the marking underneath as well.
