If every one of these is the larger 1L capacity, I'm sure all the canteen fans would love more information and/or photos of these.

My preference is to see these with cups off, to give a clear picture of type of cap & often whether bottle is alu or steel, along with info on markings.

Are any of these the rare steel 1L bottle?

Your collection & that of Giancarlo (Mulon) are the ones on here that impress the most, IMHO, so well done again, keep up the great work that never ceases to amaze me for one!
Thanks! They are as follow, from top left, to bottom right: CFL 42 alu with II type of bakelite cap, ESB 42 alu with I type of bakelite cap, MN 44 steel red painted with I type of bakelite cap, WAL 43 alu with I type of bakelite cap, SMM 44 alu with alu cap, MN 44 steel red painted with II type of bakelite cap, L&SL 44 alu with alu cap, RBN numbered alu with II type of bakelite cap. I also have GNL 44 alu with I type of bakelite cap, in gabardine cover like on this one with RBNumber and spare wool cover with steel cap. Those canteens are pictured in previous posts in this thread.

              Canteens

              Hi,
Posted this one again because MULON (he of the minty brown-painted cup beauty!) mentioned the grey studs on one of his huge collection.
It has an unmarked dark grey enamel bottle and brown enamel cup. The strap is stamped "AEMA 43" as you can see and also has a very faint "R&K" on the inside of the strap in the usual place by the stitching (not clear enough to photo).
I very much like Karbols selection of cups and pzo's selection is quite staggering!
              Good hunting!

                    Canteens

                    Thanks guys!
I wish I'd taken the trouble that a friend does, that of recording where, when and how much everything in his collection was.
I can only imagine this one came from a German friend - if it was on eBay there'd have been a major fight over it!
                    Good hunting,

Have anyone german WW2 glass bottle? I saw it just once.

                          Glad I found this thread

                          Gentlemen,
I didn't know this thread existed. Glad I have found it. While I cannot take detailed photos for you right now (I am in Afghanistan) I will be home on leave in a few weeks if you see anything you want me to take detailed pics of. Has anyone on this thread tried to match up parts from each other to make matching canteens yet? I have a few at home that I would love to get matching parts for.... well here is my little collection.
