Original wartime cup with double marking MN and MeNeSa, nothing wrong there

could you please advise me on my canteen i bought it for 80 pounds having been told it was a ww2 canteen i am not starting to think it is post war.

The cup and canteen are made out of aluminium, the back of the canteen is marked ritter alfurit drp ang and it has HRE marks all over the canteen but with no date

Sorry to see nobody's replied earlier, perhaps because images posted are quite general. To answer BASED ON THESE IMAGES ALONE, IMHO top row, L-R then bottom two L-R what you have are 5 aluminium German-style canteens. All look to be standard 0,7 Litre capacity. Top left in style of WW1; harness appears to have been messed with at some point in its life, so difficult to be more specific. Top centre paramilitary style, made from late 1920s-late 1950s. Top right post-1945, non-military. Bottom left similar to WW1 style, with typical German woollen felt covering; missing its cork, from a canteen collecting perspective this may be the most interesting of all five because the form & shape of the neck is unusual. Bottom right bottle & cap could date from anytime between 1920s-1960s. If marked on bottle or cap this/these might indicate military production, if unmarked non-military. Hope this helps!
