The "wehrmacht-socks" (post # 10) have a chance to be socks, but for sure not Wehrmacht.
I believe the second pair is a typical late war set.
I'm thinking of starting a separate thread on socks/gloves to sort out fact, fiction, collector myth etc. I need to sort through all my references to see what I can come up with. Maybe with everyones help we can come up with some "hard" information that will benefit the collector community.
Heres an interesting pair of socks I got from Militaria Versand Emig about 6-7 years ago. They use a red size line as well as white. The German collectors in the Mannheim area accepted them as real. I don't really know for sure. Its hard enough to determine if socks with white rings are original. Figured a red ring discussion might be too much. Also heard that green size rings were sometimes used.

educating thread,
Educating thread, I have a question regarding the white stripes, I was told they indicate the size of the socks/gloves, but how about the colour?, I know of these white stripes but have also seen them in red, is that possible and if so what does the red colour mean in opposite of the white ones?, thanks in advance.

Jim, please start a sock thread and a seperate glove reference thread. Getting as much information as possible in one place would be great. Here is what I have- a pair of green size ring socks from Bill Shea, a pair of gloves I am very confident about, and a pair of trigger finger mittens also with size rings inside. There must have been tens of millions of Wehrmacht socks made between 1935-45, I would expect a lot of variations. Regarding the trigger finger mittens shown below, were these used by the Wehrmacht? Anyone know for sure?Attached Files
