Hi.Do You mean useing metal nails instead of wooden pegs?
In that case, haven`t seen yet and most unlikely they did, IMO. Maybe some experimentations were carried. Who knows.

No I mean metal reinforcing on the upper stitching of the boots, where the tongue and the eyelets start.

Hello Lelez,

although they look quite convincing it looks like they miss the linnen thread at the bottom. See in the red lines. I believe all the German knobelbecher and Schuhe had this feature.
