When I see things like this my brain immediately goes to "fake" and I have no history to this piece other than its been in one collection since the 70's-80's. But the more I look at this It certainly is of excellent quality and appropriate age. Marked inside but tough to make out. Looks like large narrow font D.R.G. (worn DRGM possibly?) and small font "RUNG". I would love to hear knowledgeable comments from those familiar with these.

That one is a beauty. RIP odal, he had one hell of a collection. If that ring should ever show itself again- take it! Be very careful about the “knurled shank” pattern though- a number of cast fakes of that one exist.
