I did not know that the RK mit EL he was wearing survived.... I gather it damaged and
not in the condition of the pristine examples offered here given the state of his sidearm and
other effects that Markus had posted some time back.

Sure, those offered are not those he wore when killed, also stated by his widow.

I just mentioned it, as you said the set he wore did not survided. Its in a collection in normandie.

Strange that the Prieß Swords are selling for 35,000 as worn by him yet Wittmann's are selling for silly money and not even the one's he wore ? So paying way over the odds for standard awards kept in a draw at home.
