The reason you have that impression is because that is exactly what it is
"an original buckle that has either been cleaned in a acid solution or painted over",
the reason I know this is because I saw a guy take apart an old Redline Hotwheel die cast car, and he repainted the body and dipped the aluminium undercarriage that had all kinds of corrosion on it, he let it set for a predetermined time period and it came out looking brand new. Needless to say this is a trick used by Fleabay sellers to screw average people out of money.

            SS Buckle

Ok Guys, I am probably beating a Dead Horse here, but I want to show the images
            at 150% and 200dpi.
I know this buckle has been messed with, and for those who know me, know it was not done by me. This is not in question. But it has either been painted or dipped in a acid solution or both.
I could not find my calipers, but my measurements are as close as I can get with out them.
            The length is 63.5mm
            The width is 43mm
The weight is 22.1 grams or .78oz

Can we evaluate this one ONE MORE TIME.
PLEASE, I want to thank all that respond, I am asking this because I want to be 100% sure. I am not LOOKING for some one to say yes, I just want to make sure,
This was posted on this same forum 3 or 4 years ago and it was given several "Thumbs Up" messages. BUT FOR SOME REASON I CAN NOT FIND THE POST.
It must not of been posted by me...

                  SS Buckle

SORRY GUYS, IT IS just over 48mm WIDE, I CAN NOT FIND MY CALIPERS AND SCREWED THIS POST UP EVEN WORSE. My metric measuring stick does not have actual numbers, just notches,
ONCE YOU GET THE "ME TOO'S" rolling it is just like a snowball effect.
To me it is not a big deal, I am just looking for the TRUTH.
And I did post this a few years back, it must of been in some one else's thread or by some one else, I just know it got many THUMBS UP.
And I can not find the original post.
I KNOW SS BUCKLES ARE A MINEFIELD and I would never post one for sale UNLESS it was posted to this forum.
