This looks like a higher quality casting, imo.

      one more detail

paint is not original and buckle is aluminum
      thank you

I would say a repro by casting that somenone tried to make more convincing by a silver paint job on it.

A lot of details missing on obverse along with a mint surface lead to above opinion

I think it's an original buckle covered in artisanal paint.

Wishing to consider such option, it's hard to explain a slightly worn eagle with a stone mint catch bridge.

Wait, I think it is a authentic buckle, the backside does show actual wear.

Are you referring to area around maker marking ?

Please look closely at all of these areas which, imo, clearly shows casting signs.
Also, the markings appear to very distorted as well. Just my thoughts.

.....no doubt it's a repro by casting, but I'm interested in understanding why someone believe it legit.

Probably the buckle had wear initially.Around the 822 stamp it is clearly visible old cover and new ..It showed that SS manifold, most likely traces of the spray gun IMO

                          Hello Vladislav,

if the buckle shows (supposed) wear on eagle body and around marking area, why we don't see sign of wear on bridge where belt catch did work ?

my impression was orig. buckle showing signs of wear painted over

Hi, I believe that there is also paint so you can not see the scratches.I have never seen a fake of this order with a large font 822.There's a Czech knockoff of the old with a smaller size and modern with a large, but they do not stand up to scrutiny.Maybe the fakers have gone that far ???
