The skull is a very nice CupAl Zimmermann but the eagle appears to be a fake Wagner.


The cap itself looks good to me but I know almost nothing about visor caps so wait for a headgear expert.

Thank you Ian.Like I said the Eagle was added by former owner.So is not surprise for me that it is a fake .

In my opinion, the eagle appears to be an original Wagner in zinc. Looking at what I can see within the one photo provided, (in the important areas, such as the oak leaves around the wreath and the head details, etc.), I see nothing wrong with it. Of course, if you could provide better photos, then we might be able to be certain of what it is. Just my thoughts.

I am curious Ian what you did not initially like about it ? My initial reaction was that the eagle was good , but upon reading your reaction I tried to look at what you may not have liked. The only thing I noticed was on the bottom edge of the wings there is a little line along the edge that could be a casting mark , ie; not a sheared edge ?

C. Louis Weber was one of about 4 tailoring houses that also made visor hats.
They are primarily known for their civil visors (mostly Reichsbahn).

It is uncommon to find WH visors by them but they did make some nice pieces.

i have never seen an SS visor by them prior to this one, but I learned long ago to never say never.

Obviously, the concern is a rebanded WH visor (to include the pasteboard), but I cannot see anything in these photos that leads me to that conclusion.

It would need an in-hand to be sure.
