I can tell you that those extra lines around the bottom edges that you are referring to, do appear on original zinc Wagner eagles. I think that this was due to a slight misalignment with the dies, (or something similar), but this feature is proper in this case. Also, this can be very tricky, because this feature does closely resemble the effect that often happens with many castings that have similar, but improper cast edges. Hope this helps!
