And no picture of HGP shows him wearing a ring at all! Of any kind.

So it would make sense in some way for a soldier of the Wiking-division to have a ring with the sonnerad. However, it is highly unlikely that this ring has belonged to Hans-Gösta Pehrsson. Whether the ring is a good private purchase or field made piece is not up to me to comment upon, more than I would say that 99% of all rings with divisional insignias, dates, units etc from well-known units are junk. I mean, honestly; why don’t we ever see rings with the insignia of any run-of-the-mill infantry division from the Heer, butat the same time we see so many rings from Das Reich, LSSAH, Totenkopf, Wiking, Hitlerjugend etc that every single enlisted man could have worn two on each hand?

I am aware that the so-called “danish swas” was the DI for the Wiking Div. I was merely pointing out that (as you have here commented) that it couldn’t be more cliché... and yes, agreed they have so many of the fakes for those few divisions that every man must have had a pocketful at his death.. I always call these things “super-nazied” because in the mind of the faker (I know this goes for other items too- wehrpass and soldbuch, flags, armbands, etc..) if you want to really make it appear “more authentic” just keep adding TR symbols all over it. I saw a ring at a local show that had runes, a swas, and a confederate flag on it amongst other things. I asked the seller (who guaranteed its authenticity) why it would have a CSA item on it and he said he didn’t know but that it was direct from the vet so IT HAD TO BE REAL. (Well, can’t argue with that...LOL)
