    As I said, the cufftitle is an original officers flatwire, and a beauty. At a minimum, that's a 2000 USD cufftitle.

    The boards could be dressed up with fake cyphers to match the cufftitle, but they look like originals as well. As does the rank tab - more pics would be needed but there are no red flags on it.

      So my question would be why then this has not been purchased ten times over already for a paltry $1K? Makes you wonder if the seller actually has it in his possession.

        Thank you guys so VERY much! This has really given me good insight.

        Now I know that the cyphers and the sleeve eagle are 100% bad. Very valuable info, and again I thank you guys very much!

        I think that I will most likely still go for it, now knowing that the cuff title, tabs, and the shoulder boards themselves (not the cyphers!) are genuine.
        Sounds like a $1K is still maybe a pretty decent deal for the remaining 'good stuff'.

        Also, the good news is that, if I buy it, he can physically hand it to me 'in person', so I don't have to worry about any shipping fraud, etc.

        PS: He also offered me an SS enlisted man's cap....but...even worse this time, only one picture available at the moment.
        I have no knowledge on caps either, but shouldn't the 'bill' portion have more aging? It looks pretty new. I know that I need to provide better pictures, but any dead giveaways that the Eagle and Skull are fakes?

          Be careful buying this at such a reduced price - esp if it's on Craigslist, Facebook, or the like. Could be lifted pictures.
