LAH White Tunic...Should I buy or run away fast?

Hi everyone,

I would really appreciate your thoughts on this possible purchase, as it is quite out of my normal comfort realm of experience.

As mentioned several times before, I have a great deal of experience with 3rd Reich postcards and period book publications....but that's about it.

Now I have the possible opportunity to purchase what may be a somewhat rare item, and I really would like to be certain as to its authenticity. This was presented to me by a fellow in his 60's telling me that it has been in his family since his father brought it home from Germany at the end of the war.

These are the only pictures that I have at the moment, but I'm hoping that it's enough to give you an overview, to see if we have 'potential' for the real deal here?

Again, I would appreciate your thoughts on this.

PS: I believe that it's for a Hauptstürmführer in the Leibstandarte?

You are going to need more close up shots than this especially of the insignia IMO

The cypher looks promising but as David says better pictures are definitely needed.
I can see what looks like a drill hole at the top of the letter H.
Better pics will help.

Again I say.... Drill[ed], baby, drilled... There are a LOT of drilled out holes in that pictured cypher.

I think perhaps basic tunic, collar tabs, and cuff title are original. Put together.

Hello there,

The cuff appears to be original IMO but I don't much care for the sleeve eagle.

The ciphers are of the drilled variety.
