          Unknown Patch

I actually obtained 2 very similar patches from a 10th mountain div. (US) vet except they were from Kitzbuhel and Innsbruck, all these towns are in Austria. These patches were on a dark green base wool ,probably not SS related but some form of regional (Austrian) patch. My 2 cents.

The Standschuetzen were a sort of last ditch home guard made up of members of local rifle clubs. Nothing to do with the SS although, I suppose, it could be argued that they came under Himmler's jurisdiction in his capacity of head of the reserve army.

Uniforms & Traditions of the German Army 1933-1945 by John Angolia and Adolf Schlicht vol. 2 p. 280

If you don't have this book let me know and I will give some info on the badge.

I have a standschutzen tunic with the tabs in green. They are numbered

                    II/1

does anyone know what town this would be from, I am looking for the matching patch to restore the tunic?
