        Many times I was and worked in the museum of the Russian (Soviet) army, there isn't present and there was no SS Generals Baton

              Perhaps an period drawn artist rendering of a planned SS baton that never went further than the drawing table because no SS general reached Generalfeldmarschall-level.

                    Since there were plans for the rank of SS-Volksmarschall and prbably also drawings made for this rank, it is not impossible that also designs were made for a Volksmarschall baton.

                      Like I said if you search the Nett you will find this 4th Reich item you seek.
                      Just Google... Feldmarshall batons and you will see a few pics half way down the page.. Totally fake off course.

                      Can not believe thus thread is still on the screen.

                        Its not the same as the ones you google in- its different.
                        IT has alternative eagle- skull design and the runes are only present at the handle.
                        Why would they keep repros in a museum? I bet they have or have had a database item number for it, in that museum with a historical description.

                          I am afraid to tell you, it wouldn't be the first museum to feature repros. There is no evidence, either in the literature or in photos, of any SS baton being issued, given as a gift/reward, or otherwise. If you find a period photo of one, then you've found the holy grail. I wouldn't hold my breath.

                            Museums do not have fakes!!! So everything you see is original..
                            Well Ive been to soooo many in Germany and the fakes are rife... It's the collectors who have all the good rare stuff and the museums have to have High end copies to fool the public.

                              As I mentioned in my previous post, I will add this, upon searching and looking through thousands of photos from occupied areas of General Gouvernement
                              as part of research on resistance movements in the year and month of feb 1944 in GG ( in which only few people seem to be knowledgeable), there is a photo of Himmler with this type of baton inspecting W-SS troops. The photo exists either in Bundesarchiv or archive photos of one of the eastern european countries, the baton was not my primary topic of interest nor its existance upon the research, I only brought up the topic now hoping some light would shed on it. Have you heard about the existance of KL-Warschau and what authority created it ?
