Outstanding post Owen! Here are some photos of the internal springs on some of the Unfinished Helmet Covers that was in the batch of Waffen SS Helmet Covers that was found.

Photo of a large 62 on the outside spring side that was most likely the on "top of the batch" Size 62 SS Helmet Covers.

Print defect panel, but made the cut! Notice the steel rocker that is painted black.

Here is a size 66/68 SS Helmet Cover, but is sized marked "1" and near the front of the panel and not in the rear. Another photo of multi marked SS Helmet Cover.
