Oak BE
Well
My car is 14 years old. Just got married have 2 kids modest income etc etc etc blah blah blah
If I started collecting this stuff 40 or 50 years ago Instead of 30 years ago. Id have more. SS camo was cheaper and more abundant then.
I do have a some what representive collection.
It would be hard if not impossible to acquire what I do have. Somethings cost 4 to 6 times what I paid for them back in the day.

Owen- amazing stuff, as always. You made a negative comment about the material itself- can you expand please? Also, I don't like the way the herringbone pieces lose alot of their camo colors- fade so much. Is that because the fibers did not absorb the inks as well as the earlier "duck" fabrics? Perhaps the thicker ersatz material did not have proper time to absorb inks and Persistol as it went through the rollers...meaning a slower print process maybe ensures better ink absorption? Thoughts??

Owen- yes that answered it in a roundabout way. I think what you are saying is that the herringbone fabric "breathes" better due to a looser weave, thus making it physically cooler for the wearer, which is best suited for summer wear. I am thinking that I could REALLY get a firm concept of this idea if you could send me a few of your pieces to examine for awhile...or not.

Owen- a few things I forgot to ask...how long have you collected WW2 German camo (specifically SS), what was your first piece you put into your collection (even if it no longer is in your collection), and finally, do you have a favorite piece (and if not a favorite piece, a favorite pattern)??
Thanks for taking the time!!
Regards, Frank
