its look like field made,do you have see war time pics with this Parkas in use?
someone told me the are made after the war for Norway military academy
but I m not sure abaut this story.Comment

This example were made during the last years of the war here in Norway. The original idea where to equipt the Norwegian WSS that fought in Finland. I have never heard of that they were used during the war time, but I have seen many loose hoods stamped "Hæren" (army). This means they were used after the war by the Norwegian army.
After the war the Norwegian military academy used waffen-ss dot pattarn cloth to make jackets, pounches, etc. I have seen a coulpe of pictures from the 50`s showing Norwergian officers in these uniforms. The use were limited, and often on a experimental basis. The jackets that were made are now considered as very rare. One of the more interesting piece is the jacket very much alike the British Denison smock, but in DOT44 pattern. I know there is one of these jackets in a Norwegian collection pluss one (I would think) in the Norwegian defence museum.

I remember the original thread posted on GDC about these parkas. The example that was posted on GDC may have still had the tag affixed and was apparently produced in 1944. The oakleaf A camo pattern used is different than typical oak-A and is unique to Norwegian produced pieces. According to the collector who started that thread they were produced during the war....but also used by the Norwegian defense post war. Photos of post-war use were also posted. Nothing new there...Germany produced enough material to equipt small European and mideast countries for years.Comment

Hi all,
If anyone wants some more pictures of one of these parkas then please say so. Mine has the fur taken out and I believe that the one I got was the same as the one that Øyvind shown in his original postings based on when this tread was started. I bought mine from Derek in 2005 and I remember he had one more with fur but it was also sold around the same time. I don’t know about the value today. I paid 15 000 NOK for the parkas in 2005 and I got a hood for 1000 NOK from a Norwegian collector and this was also in 2005.

Thank you Stian. Then it would be fair to ask 25 000-30 000 Nkr ($ 45000-5000) for one that have the fur intact, including hood I guess.Comment

I had one of those some years ago, it was in very used condition, had a hole in the lower back, and a uge blood-stain. Was found in germany, Eifel-area, retreat route from the battle of the bulge.Comment
