All known Cufftitles of the SS

    Hi gents,
I am working on a list with all known cuff titles of the SS. I searched some times and put this list together.
If somebody knows more cuff titles or I put one in that really is a fantasy product please let me know.

All in there are 117 CT´s I found or read / heard about.

    Thanks for your help
    Regards
    Sascha

    Hi,

"Charlemagne" official cuff title NEVER existed.
All the veterans, best historians and specialists/collectors confirmed that.
I know that some collectors paid fakes a lot of money, but again, factual history is more important.

It is only confirmed that homemade unofficial cuff title to a few dozen of copies (?) were made and worn by the pioneer company in the Protectorate, cuff title that had to be removed (and maybe confiscated and later destroyed) when the small unit arrived in Wildflecken at the end of February 1945.
To date, no picture of that homemade unofficial cuff title exist, nor any actual original.

This is the same story as for the unofficial "Hitlerjugend" cuff titles that were made and worn unofficially by the soldiers of the division. However in that case official cuff title WAS made and partly awarded in fall 1944.

Other known cuff titles, some may be unofficial or temporary ones :

    @ for the SS-Freiwilligen-Legion « Niederlande »
    Legioen Nederland
    Frw. Legion Nederland
    Legion Niederlande

@ for the Germaansche SS in Nederland
    Germanische SS Niederlande
    Germ. SS Nederland

    See You

    Vince

      That is quite a job.
Like Sachsen, Inspekteur der SS Reitschulen, and some exotic ones known from photos.

Another unofficial CT would be "Estland". Some Estonians would take the "Westland" cuff title, add the "W" and modify the "e".
Perhaps Estonians in Westland that transferred to the Estonian SS Legion?
and "HJ Div" home made cuff titles for the 12th SS Hitlerjugend. Regulation ones were hard to obtain and officially had to be earned....

Years ago I owned a group photo of mixed POW's in Canadian internment with a Waffen SS member clearly wearing a "SS-Panzergrenadier" Cufftitle (that photo now in the collection of another WAF Member ).

Seconding what Robert said, your list is missing the Allg. SS numbered and many named honor titles.

Vince, what about the "Charlemagne" BeVo cufftitle known in an advanced american collection. Clearly an original cufftitle. And since BeVo was an automated factory, it is very probable a few more do exist.

They did exist as an official title in BeVo and the story is that these only reached the Pionier unit of 'Charlemagne' because they were still in training in Germany while the rest of the unit was deployed to the East and never got them...Supposedly sent later but never reached the unit...

What about 32nd SS Div "30 Januar" ??? Formed January of 1945...
and another late war unit 38th SS Division "Nibelungen", formed March of 1945...but issuance of titles for these units unlikely this late in the war...but who knows?

Oh I just noticed that "Nibelungen" is listed after all... So those exist for sure?

I think this is too much work...
                              Add also Ostfriesland
