Thanks also Emilio I'm guessing this kind of application on bevo trap is something people agree or don't agree.
I will try taking some detailed pics when it arrives.
    Thanks again everyone.
    Cheers

    It's a hairsplitting question.

Was zigzag sewing used - yes.
Was it used to sew SS trapezoids onto caps - yes

To go further and say "well they might have used the zigzag method to sew on wool trapezoids but prove they used it to sew on Bevo trapezoids" is just a ridiculous question.

If you asked did they attach them with press studs, hook and eyes or even safety pins, that might have some relevance.

Is the next hairsplitting part going to be "prove they used zigzag sewing to sew on double teeth trapezoids - because you've only shown a trapezoid with a single row of teeth"???

I have no ulterior motive i'm not trying to create a hairsplitting question.
Just a straight forward question.I saw the cut off for sale rushed into buying it.
Started looking at examples of m43's with bevo traps, then noticed the majority i found had straight stitching.
And as with most cut off's i'm trying to look out for any red flags which may suggest there not genuine period cut off's.
But going back to my ridiculous question I only asked because from the threads i have been reading seem to suggest only the wool traps were sewn on zigzag style bevo were done in straight style.
      Cheers
      Dave.

That would be incorrect , both methods were used .....same with sleeve Eagles.

        Regards,
        Gary

Ps the " dachau"posted earlier picked up by a British para Sgt.....made EXACTLY like the black dachau type with pirate trapezoid.

Sorry Dave - I didn't mean to quote your post, I meant to quote the post above mine.

Like Gary reinforces - both types were sewn in both styles.

              Here's another.

No problem Tony,I had been going back through the thread to see if anything I had written had offended you.

Excellent thread. Most green bevo trapazoids I own or have seen are straight-stitched, and Dave and Tony's posted examples of zig-zag stitching are value added to the discussion.

                  Thanks for posting them.

Tony , I do not think that trying to determine a correlation between a certain production and the type of insignia used and the way there were sewn on it's ridiculous.I would say it's part of the hobby.

It arrived today i'm very happy with it,and the way the trap is sunk into the wool.
I have taken a few shots. This is the only one which would re-size for some strange reason i cant do the others.
                        Thanks everyone for your help.
                        Cheers
