To make it easier to read I have darkened in the ink stamped numbers. So there is doubt what each number is.
It is now much easier to see there are three sets of size numbers.

If anyone has any information regarding who the manufacturer 393 might be, that would be great. Perhaps one day someone will come across an original wartime document listing the SS manufacturer codes. I know this is still an ongoing problem for collectors of items with RBN numbers as well.

Thanks David! I've always been interested in the production of this camouflage uniform. I will be posting more photos soon to keep the thread going.

Scott what would be nice is for us to start making a list of all the known 3 digit codes marked inside the SS HBT Dot tunics and pants. Please check your jackets and post them here. With a little luck we might eventually learn who the uniform manufacturers were that made these uniforms.

I would guess that the SS-BW and Ravensbruck markings were used extensively through 1943 and into early 1944. After that they went to the three digit codes.

On some wool tunics, the chest number was stamped in the center and the manufacturer (here 525) below.

                                Thanks Fred for posting this.

Uniform manufacturer code is 349 and 45 designates the year it was made.
What's interesting is the size numbers are positioned like you will commonly find on most Army tunics.
Basically a box pattern with a size number in each corner and the chest size in the center.

So now we have three known 3 digit code numbers.

                                349 wool tunic
                                393 HBT dot camo tunic
                                525 wool tunic

It would be great if other SS uniform collectors following this thread would take a minute
and make a photograph of the ink stamp markings found on their Waffen-SS HBT dot camo
tunic or fieldgrey wool tunic as well. We are looking for more 3 digit codes to add to the list.
