This is the sales data from Facebook from the person who is offering the tunic. I hope he don't mind:

"...I found out the provenance for you sir. The tunic came from a vet named Henry that was with the 7th army as a mess sergeant. Henry said "he was setting up his "office" in an area and found that stuffed into a hole in the wall. He figured some guard ditched it." He was there until the fall of 45 feeding US troops and German Pows.

By the way, I also agree this is a super tunic on its own. However, it is overpriced unless there is iron clad provenance. That is what I told the seller via PM on FB.

      Sal,

Yes, a good friend of mine listed that info on Facebook. I don't even have an account and really hate Facebook. I'm in no hurry to sell the tunic. In person the tunic is stunning and just has that great consistent wear and age to it that is hard to duplicate.

I'm not sure what the topic was that started this thread. I think it was asking if the tunic was any good? Anyone with any experience in these tunics can tell that this is a one looker. Now the topic has changed to the asking price of the tunic. I can say that I've never had one offered to me over many years that I thought was a one looker. They always look messed with. So with that being said, I'll be more than happy to keep it in my collection.

To new collectors, the photos I posted are a good study of a text book SS contract M43 tunic in captured Italian wool.

Thanks, I just realized you were the seller
Not cheap, but, considering what they want for obviously ****ed-with-tunics, not expensive either. IMO.

                Mark,

No doubt that this is a very nice tunic & displays wonderfully with the cap you have!

                Thanks,

These images are much better. Wow what an amazing set (tunic + cap) and based on the much better images of the tunic and straps I also agree
that it's clearly cinnamon brownish KZ piping after all! (which matches the story of the find)...as opposed to golden yellow recon...

Good to meet you Mark. The middle man fron FB (your friend) is a nice guy. I don't know about the KZ story but I agree, the tunic is a really nice one.

I do not think an advanced collector as you buy for 12k a beautiful tunic without solid provencance - evidence.

I have 3 tunic i could think unmessed, bought with a story but without evidence i paid it only a bit more. not X 2,5
Anyway right to ask the price he wants.

A very nice tunic The straps look a little bit more brown than on the photos, right? On my screen they look greyer but I guess this is due to the white background + blitz?!?

it's quite impossible to make good pics of brown colour. depends always by light, could become quite grey or quite pink.
i know it very well :-(

They are light brown not cinnamon brown as used by recon units. They are no where near the color on the straps just posted.
