The M37 lions was not made as lions for collarpatches (or to be more correct; in that size).

I have a question for Hilton: Are the lions below m07 or m37?

That design is M/07, under you can see the M/37 design. M/37 can be encountered on Pre-war police badges, beltbuckles etc (produced after 1937). Never seen the M/37 design used on Pre-war norwegian military equipment/regalia, only by police/customs etc.

This is interesting though it is not directly related to SS. I can see small variations in the m37 design:

Do you know if there were any kind of variations in the m07 design (between 1907-1936) as used by DnL, here Østring:

My collar tab has the sewn on lion. I have been working on a collar tab with a lion attached by two prongs. Both are the same pattern lion, as in post 36, above.. I would love to find one with both of the lion's feet level and not with one foot higher. Is this difficult to find?

But first I will show these two m07 left side lions – from a NS reserve/hjelpe politi and early DnL collar patch (like from the Brenden collection). When I started collecting these not knowing about different models these could have been different designs/models for all I knew. For collectors the time span of 30 years from 1907-1937 is important to remember. For many reasons an early or late production could have been used on a DnL collar patch(es). And as you write “there will always be variations, different producers, different machinery over time, different designers etc etc”. This is important to notice. As far as I know these lions have not been reproduced:
