Jotuntroll: Norges SS used a silver version the NS raven on their overseas caps, with unpainted suncross.

Here is one I believe to be original.

Christian, GSSN did not use raven on the cap, but a cloth ss scull.

Great picture! Thanks for the link. When was Norges SS completely abandoned, early 1942? So worn less than six months?
(Sorry for calling it a GSSN-raven earlier in the thread, should be NSS-raven, not my intention to cause misinformation).

Norges SS was established 21 may 1941, but was more or less dissolved after 6 months. Germanske SS Norge was then established in July 1942. The grey uniforms continued to be used by the GSSN , as a combat/ field uniform ( I will post photos when I renew my WAF membership, alternatively I could mail them to you so you could post them). They abolished the Rikshird brassard on the left arm of course, and used a machine embroidered NS raven (same design as the cap badge) in its place, they also later added the cuff title "Germanske SS Norge", "SS" arm badge and collar patches to the uniform (in other words; the same set-up as on the black uniform).
