PLEASE do not finish them! These are magnificent pieces of history and should remain that way.

Congrats, and thanks so much for sharing!

Yes I am torn what to do, but I think if I have them finished & marking them some way, my mind would be a lot more at ease then knowing that someone would deliberately rip off someone!
The solution is not easy, but you should burn and destroy all the unfinished covers. That way you will be sure they don't fall into the wrong hands. You must do this for the good of the hobby and for sake of humanity itself. There is no other way out.

Not sure if that was a joke or not, but no way destroy them . They still have historical significance IMO, just due to their uniqueness.

Historical Significance? Did the helmet covers as a group, or in part affect the outcome of anything historical. Are they responsible for changing the course of history? Did they bring World War II to end 15 minutes sooner? I'm confused.

Just take a shot of both sides of each and post them here. Each has a unique stitch and print line up, it's almost like a finger print.

That way we all get more eye candy and there's a "record" of each, in the original condition, for the future.

            Congratulations on your wonderful score!

I don't think it will be a real problwm. Before or after I think they will be completed by someone and sold agai . question of time.
If I was the lucky owner of this treasure I would keep a couple for me and sold others "as found" to advanced collectors.
Of course there is a lot of difference in money beetwen a complete one and not complete.
Of course they never seen war but CAMo collectors usually prefer mint so they could have an interesting market.
Congrats for finding and moreover thank you for showing

A couple questions. If this business was not involved in the actual production of the subject camo covers how did they end up with them and end up storing them since 1945? If this business was indeed not involved in production of the subject covers how did the trail lead the buyer to them in the first place? I understand tracking known manufacturers and approaching them. The use of a facility for storage of random items is also a plausible explanation. However, given the quantity of such possible storage facilities, randomness of items stored and length of time stored - curious to know how the trail lead to this business?

Thus far I like the items better than the story.

No, neither did any piece of SS camo complete or not, issued or not.

And all are still part of the history...

I think the community is split 50/50 in this regards, I personally like field worn has been there camo, but would definitely consider one of these mint examples due to provenance and study value.

Amazing, my opinion, leave as is, dont finish them. If I had one of these, I would also not finish it, its just fine the way it sits, I wouldn't touch them. Leave as is.

                              Rockers...

Normally we see on different rockers here, but now all seems to be ok.
I see different steel rockers with different nails, steel and alluminium.
So I guess rockers before judged :thumbsdown are : now......
They all look very originall to me.
                              Quite confusioning.

                              It"s a very learnfull thread.

We all see there are more things to learn IMO.
