The litzen was tobacco colored because he was only a Wachtmeister. A higher rank would have entitled him to aluminum/silver color. Yes those are spurs, but no horses in the album. He was a bandsman. Don't know why the spurs. Have to look closely at the album again. Perhaps a better shot of the shoulder boards.

Its interesting that in the Angolia Polizei book Vol.1 it is explained the other way around... Your explanation makes sense...I always thought tobacco color was early...silver late...I always see silver litzen on wartime tunics...Polizei officers is much easier...not much variation. From my collection 2 sets of officers SchuPo tabs as would have been worn on the Polizei Division as well..

Yeah that would be great to see, as well as a surviving 4th Polizei Div tunic (enlisted/NCO) with early Polizei rank insignia applied...

I have got a pair of shoulder boards in my collection for a long time, but never know exactly what is it, gebirsjager or polizei?
It could be a pre1942 ss polizei shoulder boards?

Not Polizei Division IMO; these should be dark green not black.

I would say these are a mid war pair of Waffen-SS GJ boards (although lacking the 'smaller-modelled' tongues often typical for SS).

That is what it appears; but look carefully and you will notice the piping, just faint because it is green.

So it must be lighter Than the Police green tabs ?
Or are These WH tabs ?
Or white Piped straps?
