    2 cufftitles! Usual practice?

    an early "fashion victim" ...

for sure not usual, because sometimes you find this. Mostly on two cuff pictures I see 2 different cufftitles. This one has two times the same one.
I know where this picture is offered actualy, just take care it is not PC modifyed. I cannot say good or bad, just unusual.

      Robert,

It is Das Reich and Der Fuhrer. I guess he didn't want to give up the DF!

thank you for the advice I thought it´s 2x "Das Reich". It makes more sence for me Der Führer and Das Reich, because it´s related. When the picture is original it is then not common to find such fotos.

I have seen similar pictures. Was wearing two cuffbands against regulations though?

                  'Das Reich' is Latin.
                  'Der Fuehrer' is Gothic.

                    Robin,
Are they officers hand embroidered type?
                    cheers,

This was a common practice if you were a Junker on the Junkerschule.

It was also very common among danish volunteers after the disbandment of Freikorps Danmark as this cufftitle was written in as a honoury cufftitle.

It would then bee written as "berechttigt zum tragen des Traditionsstreifen "Freikorps Danmark"

That top arm band looks a bit distorted,as Robert said I would be cautious about accepting it as real.

Sorry, the photo isn't too clear, but they look like RZM type.

                            Heres Another.

Wounded with Totenkopf on the Eastern front and then seconded to HD I suspect. It has appeared in a book but I disagree with the caption which stated he was HD who then joined Totenkopf. If one looks carefully his arm and leg are rather distorted and he is leaning on a walking stick. I am told it was quite normal for badly wounded Totenkopf men to be sent to the Danzig defence force. Allthough the wear of two titles was unofficial it seems that when it was done the wearers current unit took precedence and was therefore displayed above his previous title. It's a nice photo whatever.

                            Yours, Guy.

Yes, a nice photo but I should say that as far as I am aware, the Heimwehr Danzig was disbanded in 1940 and its members mostly incorporated into the Totenkopf Division. Bearing in mind that he is wearing a runic collar patch it is possible that both cuff-titles are from a former unit.
