SS Liederbuch (new member)

Hello, I'm new here (but not new to collecting).
(I've been a collector of World War 2 things for over 30 years, and have collected from earlier and later eras as well)
This looks like a good place to learn and share, and I've been pretty impressed with what I've seen so far!
I don't know if there's a dedicated thread to SS songbooks, but thought I'd post a picture of mine (I hope it shows up below, it's hosted elsewhere). I picked it up probably about 15-20 years ago at an auction with some other things.

Nice book, there were 2 versions of this book published one roughly published i think from 34-36ish and then 37-44/45 i believe. The one you have i think is in the second group as the drawings are more line figures than artistic as in the first book.

Thanks, Kevin and C. Reinhardt (and Anthony, as well!) Yes, that is one of the threads that led me here... on a lark I decided to Google the SS Liederbuch, and found that, which I found very interesting.
I was hesitant to join a group, as over the years I've come across so many "bad apples", so many fakes, and so much misrepresentation, but after looking at a bunch of the posts here, it seems this is a really good place and good bunch of people.
I was happy to get this Liederbuch (at the time, one of the few SS things I knew was original!), and just curious if anyone could translate some of the writing in the picture below? I'd love to find out more about Fritsch, but not sure if there are any resources available.
(please forgive my watermarks, but I've had so many pictures "stolen" online)

If memory serves, on one of the very first pages (at the bottom)
If there is no mention of "2. Auflage" or "3. Auflage" ..., then it means it is the 1st edition (1. Auflage) out of 9

GoodWitch, that is a pretty funny coincidence, as with the grouping that came with this Liederbuch I got at that auction years back was a photocopy of a photo of the inside of that same hat! I don't believe the hat was sold in that particular auction (and don't remember seeing it at subsequent auctions, but I could be wrong)
So, just to be clear, I own the Liederbuch in this thread, but I do NOT own the hat from the same soldier. I wish I did!

Mike you have more probably the 1. Auflage. This is strange because the guy is from a "late" SS-Standarte. To me it seemed that the 1. Auflage is more common than the later ones done by the SS-RuSHA.

"2. Auflage" and "3. Auflage" are listed on the front page you are showing with additional texts.

There are other differences on the actual text and construction of the variants of the SS-RuSHA Liederbuch.

Oh my god, did you saw that the 122. Standarte is one of the Allgemeine-SS unit from occupied Alsace ?

Some french collectors have a lot of infos on this unit and are collecting items related to it.



Adolf Fristsch lived in Schimperstrasse 10, Strasbourg.
I will ask Loïc if he knows the actual name in French of this road.

He was SS-Oberscharführer in the Allgemeine-SS.

The writing on pen are the pages with some songs :
- S(eite). [page] 146
- S(eite). [page] 29
etc.
