      That is pretty cool that it is from an Allgemeine-SS soldier from Alsace. As I mentioned, I was very happy to have gotten it. I was trying to get a lot of various items from the many areas of German WW2 organizations, etc., and I knew the SS would be difficult for the many fakes and fantasy pieces out there. I came to the conclusion that all I would be able to get would be some type of insignia, or a songbook, and low and behold this one came up at an auction, and I was determined to win it. Happily I did, and at a very reasonable price!
      Do you know of any resources where there could be more information about Fritsch, or possibly even a photo?
      With this group came a few photos from WW1 of a German soldier, and who knows? Maybe it could be the same guy.

      Mike you have more probably the 1. Auflage. This is strange because the guy is from a "late" SS-Standarte. To me it seemed that the 1. Auflage is more common than the later ones done by the SS-RuSHA.
      "2. Auflage" and "3. Auflage" are listed on the front page you are showing with additional texts.
      There are other differences on the actual text and construction of the variants of the SS-RuSHA Liederbuch.
      Oh my god, did you saw that the 122. Standarte is one of the Allgemeine-SS unit from occupied Alsace ?
      Some french collectors have a lot of infos on this unit and are collecting items related to it.
      Adolf Fristsch lived in Schimperstrasse 10, Strasbourg.
      I will ask Loïc if he knows the actual name in French of this road.
      He was SS-Oberscharführer in the Allgemeine-SS.
      The writing on pen are the pages with some songs :
      - S(eite). [page] 146
      - S(eite). [page] 29
      etc.

          Yes, this book is one of my favorites
          I'll try and post some more soon (it's great to be able to find out more information about things, and share) but regretfully though I enjoy my collection, it pales in comparison to many here. What is cool is that there are always a unique piece here and there (like the Liederbuch's personalization) that makes it stand out a little.
