the pair of trousers in the initial post are the fallschirm trousers. If you look closely you can see the side/knee pockets. The press studs are just visible...although a little hard to see amonget the camo pattern.

Waffen SS Uniforms in Color Photographs
Great information in this thread - thank you all. Now about that book: does anyone have the by uniform (or by page) breakdown of what is original/reproduction in that book? It would be helpful to guys like me in a younger generation. Secondly, did the authors know that when they published it or maybe they were simply naive, or worse, intentionally deceptive? Lastly, with all of this evidence of fantasy pieces being made from real material or unfinished pieces, how do we know the SS Dot Para Smock is, in fact, a real wartime garment? Is it because of veteran provenance? As a four tour vet of a more recent war, I will admit that one's memory of events is not always free from error!

Hiya.
We bought an SS Erbsenmuster lot at auction earlier this year. We believed that the material was original, but the garments were finished post WW2, so we published the pictures on Walhalla as a guide to people of these reproductions and got seriously lambasted. This has put us off Forums, but Marflower has put a few pictures on here and we are happy to add some more, better quality ones, for members. We hasten to add that we are not selling it as original and doubt that there were ever any originals made, never mind issued. However, the quality of manufacture is very good, combining different batch pieces of material in the same garment to make it look like late War production. What seems to give these items away, are the use of post War pop studs. In the case of the trousers, these are SHB SWIP 5. Our research can only find their use on period Louis Viutton handbags, but still, high quality products
As we are not an Association member, I have allowed Marflower to post a few of our photos.

Fabrics
Thanks for the detailed pictures .... Just a cool mix of fabrics showing the HBT mixed with the smooth cotton! Again, congrats! Hmm, making an edit, so are these a couple of the pieces finished post war with good fabric?Last edited by drempfer; 11-29-2014, 11:48 PM. Reason: Confused if these detailed pics were the post war made pieces.
