While it's not a cap I would buy, I'm not saying definitively that it's bad. But if you buy a cap that is not pretty much textbook, you'd have a big problem if you ever want to sell it, and if you keep it, the red flags would eat away at you. You're much better off saving your money, being patient, keep scouring E-stand for SS guys who desperately need cash, dealers like Ruptured Duck, or Collector's Guild, and maybe eventually you'll find a nice salty example, even without insignia perhaps, and you'll get a deal. My Allgemeine SS cap was stripped when my friend first got it. Hint: If you get a nice early example minus insignia, replacing the eagle and skull will be far less expensive. You can pick up BOTH early insignia for $200 or less, whereas 2nd-pattern SS insignia will probably set you back $700 - $800, for both. Best of luck. The KEY: "Patience".
