What is pathetic is that you believe that a mint SS officer tunic was found with mint utouched insignia in its pocket in a red cross bag...........

but, hey, you dont really belive that do you?

I know it sold at a fair value.....the buyer got a nice tunic with nice insignia, but an tunic that was worn by an Der fuhrer officer, its probably not. The price did reflect that too.

So what was your constructive contribution to this thread. You have outed a ss tunic that was known to everyone to be restored and of which all the facts about it was in the open, for everone to make up their own minds. There was already a lengthy thread on this tunic where everybody did just that. J

As I understood this tunic was found in a Red Cross bag at a recycling depot. Nothing is really surprising here as many families in Europe and around the world get rid of old cloth this way, many original uniforms ended up in garbage or at its best in recycling.

Add me happily to one who "ohhs and ahhs", I like it...real tunic, insignia. I dont have 20-30k to worry over a supposedly "right one". What is a right one? I would imagine one documented and worn with provenance by an SS officer, WITH a picture...other than that, I've always believed SS officers tunics were simply private purchase army jackets with SS insignia. .I've been offered them, only to find, they are also "restored" and not very well...this is one I would gladly own and not lose sleep over. That's worth a lot. If you dont' like it, not to worry, Im sure no one will force you to buy it, just let the owner enjoy it, without ridiculing him and his piece, seems fair. Will you be showing the inside of the tunic? Would love to see.

The tunic would have sold for 7500USD all day long anyway.
