Hi Dion, the photo is a very nice image, we collectors tend to forget just how young some of these (now) Vets were during the War.
The pic is interesting as it shows a late war image ( I presume 1945 if he is going to Dresden after the big air raid?) but with the M36 tunic and "dice -shakers" still in wear.
Bear in mind that German nationals served in all the foreign volunteer divisions.
Cheers, Ade.

Thanks for all the comments guys!
Simon,I think he joined up in 44. He did mention Wiking to me once but I think he was always with the nederlander.Being from the Münster area he was an orphan and wanted adventure and voluntarily joined. Münster is right on the Holland border and it seems logical he got in to the nederland division. Ill find out over christmas more details Simon. B4 Dresden he was in Warsaw (cadre?) He ended up back in the west and was captured by the british where he escaped a field POW camp. He claims it was quite easy. On another good point, a friend of his is giving me a box that is literally packed to the top with third reich medals,, I CANT WAIT!!!Last edited by münster; 10-31-2004, 07:31 PM.Iam Uncle Sam
