    Hello Sturmmann,

Your binoculars are the early type of Ruka Rathenow SS 6X30, the same type of mine. There should be a rangefinder scale in the right prism room which is a horizontal line with scales.

I agree with Jack, your binoculars must have been disassembled and repainted post war, the leather covers were removed as well.

As for your case, I don't think it's original, the skull doesn't conform with known leather stampings on early ss binos case.

    Yun

Here is mine, discussed here: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=683917

It cost me $1800 to buy the SS binoculars (without case) in 2012. I think the value of your binos is approximately $1100 - $1200 due to its condition.

It's SRB & STYS Prah bino, not Ruka.

if you notice the skull engraving on the binocs, and the pressed (embossed) skull in the casr top, are the same type. This piece is reitous.

                      Ss

Serial number is out of the known range. What makes you think they are fake? Markings are under the paint. Did someone fake the marking then add the paint and corrosion?

                        And here is mine.
I bought it in a second hand shop in my town for 1 month ago.
I love the clear markings on it.
From the production number this one has the highest of those posted here. So later these came in aluminum and not brass as on the early ones.
